Using Moodle and
Other Online Learning Environments to Increase Learning in your Classroom
Featuring Connie Jaeger If your school is implementing an online learning environment such as Moodle…
THIS is the seminar for YOU!
And most importantly:
Learn how to use the online environment as
more than a fancy way to hand out worksheets!
Implementing an online learning environment (such as Moodle) in your classroom is difficult. Often times teachers have little preparation time, limited training, and no say in how the tool is set up for use. So what are you supposed to do? This seminar will give you concrete strategies and techniques to make implementing a blended classroom easy and effective.
What is a “Blended Classroom”? A blended classroom uses an online learning environment in addition to traditional classroom instruction. The class is not delivered online (students actually come into the classroom) but the online learning environment is used to enhance the classroom instruction.
Is teaching in a “Blended Classroom” difficult? It does not have to be. Unfortunately, because many teachers do not know the simple strategies and techniques presented at this seminar, the online learning environment becomes a fancy way to pass out worksheets or post articles for students to read. With a few short hours of training you will be using the online learning environment to increase participation, facilitate discussions, enhance collaboration and most importantly: increase learning in your classroom.
What if my school is using a tool other than Moodle? That is no problem! The presenter at this seminar is familiar with all of the major online learning providers. The examples shown to the group will be done using Moodle…but it will be easy and obvious how to take these lessons and do them using your specific tool.
Will this seminar be too advanced for me? No…this seminar will assume that you have an online learning tool such as Moodle available for you to use…but it will not assume that you have been trained or have experience using the tool. Our presenter is an expert at making you feel comfortable regardless of your background knowledge. Best of all…you will not be pressured to try the techniques during the seminar. To maximize learning during this seminar individual attendees will not be on computers during the presentation. No need to fear being rushed or pressured while trying these strategies…PLUS every attendee will receive a handbook to take home loaded with information and helpful reminders.
Will this seminar be too easy for me? No…the strategies presented in this seminar are applicable for both novice and experienced users. Whether you have just started in a blended classroom or you have been doing it for years you will walk away with new techniques and methods that you can apply immediately! This seminar is appropriate for all educators grades K-12.
"Sometimes educators hear the words "Professional Development" and they have an adverse reaction. Not if they have taken a course from Connie Jaeger! The energy that Connie brings to her instruction, her knowledge of the content, and her modeling of best instructional practices combine to make her sessions engaging and informative. - Julie Bowline Director of Instructional Technology and Library Services Adams 12 Schools, Thornton, CO |
