Amie Dean is one of the nation's leading experts on designing classroom interventions that reduce behavior problems and increase instructional time. Her seminars routinely sell out because she delivers simple strategies and techniques that can be implemented the very next day in your classroom.
Finally, a one-day seminar that shows how to implement POSITIVE and PRACTICAL strategies that promote positive student behavior! You will learn strategies to help minimize VERBAL disruptions, actively engage students, and increase time spent teaching!
Guaranteed to answer these questions:
• How can I motivate students to get on task and stay on task?
• How can I correct student behavior without breaking trust or relationships?
• How do I teach, rather than expect, students to be respectful?
• What can I do to be sure I am DE-escalating situations in my classroom?
This seminar is appropriate for all grade levels K-12 and will cover a wide variety of strategies using examples for all levels.
About the Presenter:
Amie Dean has been a classroom teacher and “strategy specialist” for 14 years. Amie is a national speaker on topics such as classroom management, differentiated instruction, and motivating difficult students. She has extensive experience working with students and teachers at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She has worked with thousands of teachers to help them find behavior interventions that work.
Here’s what others are saying:
"Amie, I just had to let you know what a huge success your workshop was in Haywood County! I thought it was the best classroom management workshop I had ever attended (and I taught 35 years!), but the real value of it has been seen in the impact the strategies have had in the classrooms! As beginning teacher coordinator I asked our teachers to try at least one strategy, and then I'd wait 3 weeks and come to observe and see how things were going. I have been to almost all of the teachers now to observe and in every single classroom, the strategies are being used - AND are working!"
Nancy Pryor
Beginning Teacher Coordinator
Haywood County, North Carolina
"Yesterday, was the first time in 6 months that I haven't gone home with a headache from yelling and fussing! I am so excited! I am usually exhausted when I leave everyday. Well nothing changed about that, except now I am exhausted from teaching not yelling!!!!"
--Tell Amie thanks so much!

A note from Presenter Amie Dean…
Greetings Fellow Educators…
Like many of you I have had classes and often students which led me to think, “How will I make it this year?” I have spent my career as a classroom teacher searching for and learning what strategies work with students. My only criteria – positive and practical!
This seminar is designed for real teachers in real classrooms. You know, the classroom with 35 kids of varying abilities. I have worked with students who were labeled severely behavior disordered, oppositionally defiant, and emotionally disturbed, and I have had success with each and every one. I know you will come away with many strategies that you can employ in your setting the very next day.
Please join me for this day of sharing and learning!
-Amie Dean
Conference Schedule
Designed for Classroom Teachers, Special Education Teachers, Counselors, Title I Staff Members, Instructional Assistants and Administrators serving Grades K-12
8:30 – 9:00 Registration and Breakfast
9:00 – 10:15 Session 1: 10 Foundations for Successful Classroom Management
Just as we parent the way we were parented, we teach the way we were taught. Many teachers have the best intentions, but lack the strategies and techniques to connect with today’s difficult student. Most teachers WANT to be more positive, yet haven’t found effective ways to discipline other than the traditional focus on negative consequences. This is a practical, hands-on seminar filled with concrete strategies you can employ the next day in your classroom.
10:30 – 12:00 Session 2: Motivating students to Work
You will learn not only strategies for motivating students, but also great resources to find even more. As a classroom teacher, you can never have enough tricks up your sleeve!
12:00 – 1:00 Lunch (on your own)
1:00 – 2:00 Session 3: How to Change Behaviors and connect with students
This is the session for which teachers always ask for more! Strategies for improving, managing, and maintaining positive behavior will be discussed and modeled so teachers can begin using the ones they connect with right away.
2:00 – 2:30 Session 4: Academic Activities to Engage all Learners
All of us need to feel the “3 C’s” – Connected, Capable, and Contributing. Amie will share many strategies to ensure your students have the opportunity to have these needs met within your classroom!
